Vietnam

NorthWood members have been serving communities in north Vietnam since 1996, using their vocational skills, gifting and passions to meet needs and impact lives.  This year NorthWood will send 8 teams to Vietnam, impacting multiple areas / domains in each of the communities we serve.  In Hanoi we work with orphans, universities, hospitals, artists, and the business community. In addition, we have adopted a village in the mountains of Lao Cai Province, where we have impacted health, education, agriculture and family income.

One of our most exciting opportunities to impact lives is our exchange student program. Since 2000 NorthWood families have hosted 66 exchange students during their junior / senior year of high school.  Many of these students go on to attend universities in the United States and will return to Hanoi and become Vietnam’s future leaders.

NorthWood Church engages in Vietnam via our own non-profit organization called Glocal Ventures Inc. (GVI).  For more information on trips to Vietnam and NorthWood's work there, go to the Glocal Ventures web site.

Mexico

Suffering the same needs as other developing nations, our Mexican neighbors present NorthWood with numerous opportunities for service in the areas of business, education, medicine, advocacy and water purification. Our support efforts include feeding the poor, healing the sick, caring for orphans and assisting local churches in Puebla to reach remote villages with the Gospel.

For the stories and pictures from the most recent Orphanage Construction Project in Puebla, Mexico please check out the Mexico Trip blog.
